* Old
Goa : 10 km east of Panjim is Old
Goa , home to some of the most famous ,
richest and most ornate churches. The massive
Portuguese-Gothic Cathedral of St Catherine
da Se , or simply , the Se Cathedral , was
commissioned as far back as 1564. Across
Old Goa's main square is the Basilica de
Born Jesu , the Jesuit chruch that houses
the remains of Sant Franics Xavier , Goa's
patron saint.
* Fort
Aguada : Built by the Portuguese
in 1612 to depend Goa from marauding invaders.Walk
along the keyhole-shaped jetty for a superb
view of the coast from Sinquerim almost
up to Baga , and then walk up the hill to
see the citadel and the 1864 ligthhouse.
The fort still functions as a prison as
well. |

* Bogmalo
: It is the closets beach to the airport.
* Colva
: Colva was once popular beach as a
hippie beach - sun drenched and palm fringed.
Today , much of Colva is a of mess resorts.

Miramar beach :
This beautiful beach is situated about 3kms
from Panaji. It lies adjacent the estuary of
the river Mandovi as it opens into the Arabian
sea. It was at first known as the "Gasper
Dias Beach". From the beach crossways the
river is a brilliant view of Fort Aguada. Apart
from its nearness to Panaji, it is extremely
a great deal commercialized and a great number
of hotels and exclusive homes of Goa's rich
and well-known stud the area. The beach is crowded
with locals and tourists similar on most days. |

| Caves

Rivona Caves : These caves
are located in the village of Rivona, 3kms south east from Zambaulim.
These caves are believed to be dug in by Buddhist monks in the 6th
or 7th century. This is one of the not many examples of Buddhist influence
visible in Goa today. |

Lamgao : The Cave at Lamgao
was carved out of rotten laterite, which is very fragile. It could
have been one of the reasons for send-off the cave uncompleted. |

Near Netravali :Netravali
was carved in laterite near Netravali. The designer of the cave had
in use care to divide the walls of the cave from the mother rock to
discontinue the seepage of water during the rainy season. There is
a single hall with planning to either help sit or sleep. Noted is
a provision to fix a timber door to the entrance. The walls of the
cave are nicely cut with brilliant finishing. The roof is sloped for
clearing the rainwater speedily. This cave was carved out only for
housing purposes like the caves at Aquem, Margao. |

Indian Airlines,Jet Airways and Air Saharahook u Goa with Delhi ,
Mumbai , Bangalore , Chennai , Kochi , kozhikode , Pune and Agatti
in Lakshadweep. Goa's Dabolim Airport is about30 Km from Panjim ,
about 20-40 minutes away depending on the traffic in Panjim. |

Margao is the most important railway station
in Goa , followed by Vasco though there are other smaller station
newly constructed Konkan Railway route.The Konkan Railway trains stop
at four places in Goa- Pernem, Thivim, Karmali and Margao.For Panjim,get
down at Karmali (10 km away).Don't make the mistake of going all the
way to Margao,which is 30 km south. |
